MELANIZED

MELANIZED is a certification service mark administered by Avid Resources LLC that recognizes businesses that are African American-owned and/or demonstrate a measurable commitment to supporting African American individuals, families, businesses, and communities. Certification may be based on ownership, employment practices, utilization of African American-owned vendors, sponsorship of community initiatives, charitable contributions, educational programs, economic development efforts, or other documented activities that create meaningful benefits for African Americans.

The purpose of MELANIZED is to provide transparency, accountability, and visibility. Rather than relying solely on marketing claims or public statements, the program seeks to document and verify contributions through a structured review process. Approved businesses are listed on a public roster, creating a trusted resource for consumers, organizations, and community members seeking to identify businesses that actively support African American economic growth and advancement.

MELANIZED was created to address a longstanding challenge: the lack of documentation and measurement of contributions made to African American individuals, businesses, and communities. While African Americans contribute substantial purchasing power to the economy, the impact and circulation of those dollars within African American communities is often difficult to track. By encouraging documentation, verification, and public accountability, MELANIZED seeks to preserve records of community investment, highlight meaningful contributions, and strengthen economic relationships that benefit African Americans.

The program also seeks to reduce unsupported claims of support for African Americans by providing a recognizable certification based on established standards and documented evidence. Through verification, public recognition, and ongoing recordkeeping, MELANIZED promotes transparency, encourages economic participation, and helps build a lasting record of businesses that contribute to the advancement and economic empowerment of African Americans.

Businesses approved through the program may receive a certificate of recognition, a digital service mark, and other program materials identifying their certification status and participation in the MELANIZED program.
